Taiwan and Thailand are boosting their collaboration in the field of smart agriculture by focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence, low-carbon farming, and advanced agricultural technology. A Taiwanese delegation comprising government officials, industry leaders, and academic experts recently visited Thailand, with stops in Bangkok, Chiang Rai, and Chiang Mai to engage with Thai counterparts and research institutions on these topics.
The discussions during the visit revolved around the enhancement of smart-farming technologies and the promotion of low-carbon agricultural practices. The delegation also explored opportunities for public-private partnerships aimed at modernizing agricultural production through technological innovation. As part of their itinerary, the Taiwanese representatives visited farms and agricultural organizations that are already implementing smart-farming methods, such as organic tea production and eco-friendly banana cultivation.
At Maejo University, conversations focused on agricultural engineering, adapting technology to local needs, and developing skilled professionals equipped to advance the sector. This visit provided valuable insights into Thailand’s requirements for smart-farming equipment, technologies, and operational support.
Taiwan intends to leverage its existing agricultural cooperation programs with Thailand to further joint research initiatives and facilitate talent exchanges. Plans also include field testing and establishing business partnerships to foster the growth of smart agriculture in both countries.
