China’s Loong Air has inaugurated a direct flight route between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Taichung International Airport, signifying the airline’s first foray into cross-strait services. These flights will occur twice weekly, specifically on Tuesdays and Saturdays, enhancing travel connectivity between southwestern China and central Taiwan.
This new service represents a significant addition to Taichung International Airport’s offerings, which now comprise 31 operational or announced routes. Among them, there are 20 regular services and 11 charter routes, showcasing the airport’s growing importance as a regional aviation hub.
With the introduction of the Chengdu route, Taichung Airport expands its cross-strait connections, joining Nanjing and Qingdao as the three scheduled destinations it currently serves. This development is poised to facilitate greater interaction and accessibility between the regions.
The Chengdu-Taichung route is expected to attract a diverse mix of passengers, including business travelers and tourists, further bolstering economic and cultural exchanges.
