Taiwan Halts Visa Issuance for Nationals of Morocco

Taiwan has put a stop to processing visas for citizens of Morocco following Morocco’s decision to cease issuing visa confirmation letters for Taiwanese travelers. This move by Morocco affects Taiwanese travelers globally and is based on the principle of reciprocity.

The situation arose after Moroccan diplomatic missions were directed to halt the processing of confirmation letters that Taiwanese citizens need to secure visas upon arrival. However, Taiwanese travelers who have already been issued valid confirmation letters before this suspension can still enter Morocco as long as those documents remain valid.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concerns that Morocco’s actions have disrupted travel and people-to-people exchanges. The ministry has urged Morocco to resume normal visa processing to facilitate smoother interaction and movement between the two regions.

In response to the current situation, Taiwan has indicated that it will continue to closely monitor Morocco’s visa policy and adjust its own measures accordingly. The ministry remains hopeful that normal visa processes can be restored to maintain and enhance the bilateral relationship.
