China is set to kick off its National Science Popularization Month, aiming to enhance public comprehension of scientific advancements and boost science literacy throughout the nation. The month-long initiative will revolve around the theme “Science Transforms Lives, Innovation Secures the Future” and will feature a variety of exhibitions, lectures, science tours, and activities designed to engage the public.
In Beijing alone, over 100 exhibitions and events will take place at key venues. Additionally, national scientific societies are organizing more than 150 activities across the country. This campaign seeks to make foundational research and emerging scientific breakthroughs more accessible to the general populace.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to visit laboratories and research facilities, providing them with firsthand insight into cutting-edge scientific advancements. This direct exposure is intended to demystify scientific processes and innovations, fostering a greater appreciation and understanding among the public.
A significant highlight of the program is the 2026 World Conference on Science Literacy, scheduled for mid-September in Beijing. The conference will gather representatives from various countries to discuss matters of science literacy and foster international cooperation in this field.
